Who is responsible for your data?
The data controller is PASECOM GROUP LTD, trading as Private CT, company number 17139327, registered office 82a James Carter Road, Mildenhall, IP28 7DE. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), registration ZC117546. Contact us about your data at hello@private-ct.co.uk, on 01455 242326, or by post to the registered office.
What data do we collect when you request a scan?
When you use the "Request a private CT scan" form, we collect:
- the body area, your town or postcode, how soon you want the scan, how you are paying, whether you have a GP or specialist letter, and whether you have been told you need contrast;
- your name, phone number and email address;
- anything you write in the note (up to 400 characters);
- the date and time you sent the form, the page you sent it from, and the exact consent wording you agreed to;
- a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address and your browser type, used only to limit repeat submissions and detect spam.
Some of this is health information, which the law treats as special category data. Please do not put more health detail in the note than a centre needs to contact you.
Why do we use it, and on what legal basis?
To pass your request to one independent imaging centre that covers your area and body area, so it can contact you about a private CT scan. Our legal basis is your consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a)) and, for health information, your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a)), given by ticking the consent box.
We also keep a record of requests to show what you consented to and when, to deal with questions or complaints, and to see where people need a centre we do not yet cover. Our basis for that is our legitimate interest in running the service properly and proving consent.
Who do we share it with?
- One independent imaging centre that covers your area, if one does. It then handles your data under its own privacy notice.
- Our service providers, acting on our instructions: our web host (IONOS), which stores the website and request records, and our email provider, which carries the alert we send ourselves.
- Authorities, only if the law requires it.
We do not sell, rent or trade your data. If no centre covers your area, we send your request to no one.
How long do we keep it?
12 months from the date you send it, then we delete it, unless you ask us to delete it sooner or we need it longer for a complaint or legal claim.
What are your rights?
You can withdraw consent at any time; ask for a copy of your data; ask us to correct, delete or restrict it; ask for it in a portable format; and complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. Email hello@private-ct.co.uk and we will reply within one month.
Cookies and analytics
This website uses no advertising cookies. If we switch on Google Analytics, you will see a banner asking you to accept or reject analytics cookies, and nothing is set until you accept. If you accept, Google Analytics sets cookies such as _ga to count visits, and Google processes that data for us, possibly outside the UK under its safeguards. We never send Google your name, phone, email, postcode or anything you type in the form. A completed request is counted with only the body area, city page and form location. Your choice is stored in your browser (local storage key "pct_consent").
How do we keep your data secure?
Requests are stored in a protected folder that the website cannot serve, on our host's servers, and access is limited to the people who run the service. The site uses HTTPS. If something goes wrong that puts your data at risk, we will tell you and the ICO where the law requires.
Children
This service is for adults. If you are asking for a child, please speak to their GP.

What should you know before you ask for a CT?
This is not medical advice. We cannot tell you whether you need a CT scan. CT uses ionising radiation, so the law says every scan must be justified: a practitioner at the centre must decide the benefit outweighs the risk, using the details your referrer supplies (IR(ME)R 2017). No centre can promise a scan without that check, and a centre can say no. Some centres ask their own clinician to confirm the scan is appropriate. Many still want a letter from your GP or a specialist.
Insured scans need a referral and pre-authorisation from your insurer before you book. Contrast dye is often extra and is not for everyone. A centre may ask for a kidney-function blood test first, and you should tell it about allergies, kidney problems or diabetes medicine.
Chest pain, sudden shortness of breath, signs of a stroke, a head injury, or coughing up blood are not for this website or its form. Call 999.
Do you sell my details?
No. We pass your request to one imaging centre that covers your area, with your consent, and to no one else except the service providers we need to run the site.
How do I delete my data?
Email hello@private-ct.co.uk. We will delete your request and reply within one month.
